The Matanuska Susitna Orchestra was formed in the early 21st century by a small but dedicated group of string teachers and their students.
Our main focus is to provide growth and performance opportunities for Valley string players and to raise support for local non-profits.  Our motto is “Making Music Make a Difference”

The orchestra is undergoing a conductor change as Kate Patterson has stepped down after 16 years of leadership.  Thye have asked interested parties to conduct them for their upcoming concerts and will make their decision at a later date.  Please support us through this concert season and attend our upcoming concerts to encourage the players through this transition.
